"Animal farm
Despite being published in 1945, this great piece of political satire remains topical events nowadays. The novel expresses the idea of a society where all people are equal, yet some of them are more equal than the others.
The story begins with a revolution of humiliated animals who had long suffered under the tyranny of man. Soon after the revolution, two pigs – Napoleon and Snowball set themselves in the role of leaders. To imprint the basic rules into animals´ minds, Seven Commandments (a sort of constitution) are written on the wall. After a certain period of time a establishing Napoleon as a new leader. With a guard of fierce-looking dogs, he keeps other animals in fear and obedience. Step by step the pigs are acting more like humans including money trade, wearing clothes etc. The happening culminates, when the pigs started to walk on theirs hind legs, using a whip to keep other animals at work.
In my opinion, Animal farm is a very well written compelling story. Everything is said straight and clearly. Although the book deals with such a serious topic, it always keeps the reader entertained yet awarded of what´s really happening.
The novel is based the lives on animal living in society on the Manor Farm. Although the title of the book suggests the book is merely about animals, the story is a much more in depth analysis of the working society in Communist Russia. The animals are used as puppets to illustrate how the communist class system operated, how propaganda was used by early Russian leaders such as Stalin. The pigs were subject to favouritism by Napoleon, and were given privileges that other animals were not given, such as sleeping in beds, wearing clothes and drinking beer. The pigs were also the only animals involved in making the vital decisions on Animal Farm.

Communist revolution took place in Russia on November 7th 1917, the Bolsheviks seized control over the Congress of Soviets. Lenin soon negotiated a peace with Germany, disadvantageous for Russia. There were the White Bolsheviks and their opposition the Red Bolsheviks, which instigated civil war. The Red Bolsheviks crushed the White army forces. Peace was restored to Russia in 1921.
At 1924 Lenin died. Trotsky and Stalin developed opposing ideologies:
Trotsky believed that the revolution in Russia could succeed only with the help of other revolutions throughout Europe. He believed that socialism couldn’t survive against industrial states of Europe. He believed that the strong Russia should be built upon an industry of production of consumable goods (clothing, food, household items).
On the other hand Stalin believed that the revolution in Russia should be strengthened from within to ward off any attack from the hostile world outside. Stalin believed that heavy industry, such as machinery, transportation equipment and weapons would keep the revolution secure.
Stalin and his followers in the Communist Party voted out Trotsky, forced him into exile. After that Stalin became the Supreme Head of the Soviet Union (1929) → beginning an era of increasing central control and authoritarian government.
Civil rights were disregarded, dissenting voices were silenced, artistic expression was censored and one wave of purges followed another. People were forced to go to Gulags on Siberia.
After The Second World War Communists influenced politics in Eastern European and this states became part of the Soviet satellite countries. At 1948 Iron-curtain fell down and it parted the Europe.
After the revolution: At 1989 there was the Velvet revolution in the Czech Republic (at that time Czechoslovakia). We became free."
